This AUX input upgrade can be installed in any valve or transistor classic car radio. Choose this option for working radios that you want to upgrade with the additional functionality of AUX input.
The upgrade involves the installation of an Aurora AUX-1 module which allows the original radio to connect with your phone or any other device with an earphone jack output.
This upgrade is suitable for both valve and transistor radios, where it offers an automatic switch over from radio to Aux input when a signal is present at the input jack. This makes it very easy to operate and devices can be left connected when not in use.
Directly connecting an MP3 player to the audio amplifier on some valve radios results in low volume and poor performance, so the digitally controlled audio output level from the AUX-1 is very high to match the levels of early tube radios. This solves the problem of connecting a modern audio source with a conventional valve radio.
The Aurora AUX-1 converter matches the output from your audio source to the input of the radio, which results in plenty of volume and superb performance.
The resulting radio looks and operates exactly like it always did, but now has fully integrated, automatic AUX input capability. This upgrade is fully reversible and, if required, the radio can be returned to its original condition.
Please note: The radio should be working before the AUX Input upgrade can be installed as the upgrade operates through the original electronics. Pricing is for the supply and installation of the Aurora AUX-1 converter module only and does NOT cover any repair work on the radio.
